Delivery issues

Your submission can arrive safely even when its email notification is delayed.

If you can see the submission in Form Plume, your data is safe. You do not need to submit the form again.

If the notification has not arrived

Spam submissions do not send a notification unless you have enabled notifications for them.

How Form Plume retries notification delivery

Form Plume sends the notification after accepting the submission. If the email service is temporarily unavailable, takes too long to respond, or rejects the send for another temporary reason, we try again automatically.

The first retry happens quickly. If the problem continues, each retry waits longer than the one before it. This gives short outages time to recover without sending the same request over and over.

Retries happen in the background. The original submission stays in your dashboard while we keep trying to deliver its notification.

When retries stop

We stop retrying as soon as the email service accepts the message.

We also stop when the address has been suppressed because of an earlier permanent failure, such as a hard bounce. Retrying the same address would not fix it. Check the recipient, replace it if needed, then send a new test submission.

If every retry fails, the submission still stays in your dashboard. Correct the recipient if needed, then send a new test submission.

If the address is correct and the message is not in spam, wait a few minutes before testing again. A temporary delivery problem may already be recovering in the background.
